About Canskier and Contact Information
Canskier is a project of Servoweb Technologies, a West Vancouver web development team focused on creating big solutions for small to medium sized businesses throughout North America.
Our first foray into online community building was called v70xc.com, a website originally built for owners and prospective owners of Volvo's then only all terrain wagon, the V70XC. From there the site grew to cater to owners of all new Cross Country vehicles, including the renamed V70XC to XC70, the SUV called XC90 and all future releases under the Cross Country model line up. Thus, the name was changed to VolvoXC.com.
With VolvoXC.com's success firmly in place, there was no question what we should work on next... an online skiing community specifically designed for Canadian skiers. Why just focus on Canada? Well, there are already a large number of quality communities out there on the Internet that focus on skiing which are almost entirely based on the U.S. ski scene and frequented by American members. Not that thats' a bad thing at all, it's just that the Canadian skiing experience and its skiers are sufficiently different, so we felt a Canadian specific community might just be a good idea. Plus, this way, we don't step on the toes of the already established communities out there.
We sincerely hope you enjoy our work here, and that you'll get involved with our forum community... It's a great way to interact with other Canadian skiers!
